Jack Heaton Dedication Book
£375.00
This is a particularly rare item - an absolute one off. It is a blue leather bound folder with gilt lettering to Jack Heaton (Captain of England 1947) and enclosed are some 13 loose parchment sheets.
The book records the names of the officials, committee, players and members of the Lancashire County Rugby Football Union, who subscribed to the presentation to Jack Heaton, in appreciation of his outstanding contribution to Rugby Football.
The pages inside are incredible and are Hand Painted. The lettering and graphics, all being painted onto the sheets that are within. The sheets themselves are of thick consistency, leading to the colours and the paint still being amazing to this day.
The pages are un-attached to the book (intentionally) and are kept in place by little hinges.
This book came direct from the Jack Heaton collection and is truly a one off. This was awarded to Jack Heaton on 6th July 1950.
I have never seen Rugby Memorabilia like this before. The detail and affection involved in creating something like this is enormous.
This is a must for any true collector of antique Rugby Union Memorabilia.
Truly a one off and personal item.
