Carwyn James - Welsh Text Version

Paperback edition of 'CARWYN - Un o fois y pentre'

Welsh language version of this well known book about Carwyn James.

In 1982 the world of Welsh rugby was derived of one of its best-loved members by the death of Carwyn James. He was the first man to coach a victorious British Lions team this century, also achieved unparalleled success as coach to the Welsh champion club Llanelli, and was frequently described as the greatest coach in the world. Yet he never coached the Welsh team and was regarded as a prophet without honour in his own country.

This biography by Alun Richards is in very good condition. Paper back 1st Edition 1983. (15)

Peter Wheeler - Rugby From The Front
Peter Wheeler - Rugby From The Front

Peter Wheeler captained his club, Leicester, to the John Player Cup on three successive occasions. He was the mainstay of England's 1980 grand slam season. Yet he had to wait until 1983 before achieving one of his great ambitions and becoming his country's captain.

Not afraid to speak out on many issues confronting the sport today, Peter Wheeler has written a book which brilliantly describes the efforts, the sacrifices, the pleasures and the friendships in the life of the leading rugby player in the 1980s.

This is the paperback version, in near mint condition. Published 1984 (2nd).

Jack Heaton Dedication Book
Jack Heaton Dedication Book

This is a particularly rare item - an absolute one off. It is a blue leather bound folder with gilt lettering to Jack Heaton (Captain of England 1947) and enclosed are some 13 loose parchment sheets.

The book records the names of the officials, committee, players and members of the Lancashire County Rugby Football Union, who subscribed to the presentation to Jack Heaton, in appreciation of his outstanding contribution to Rugby Football.

The pages inside are incredible and are Hand Painted. The lettering and graphics, all being painted onto the sheets that are within. The sheets themselves are of thick consistency, leading to the colours and the paint still being amazing to this day.

The pages are un-attached to the book (intentionally) and are kept in place by little hinges.

This book came direct from the Jack Heaton collection and is truly a one off. This was awarded to Jack Heaton on 6th July 1950.

I have never seen Rugby Memorabilia like this before. The detail and affection involved in creating something like this is enormous.

This is a must for any true collector of antique Rugby Union Memorabilia.

Truly a one off and personal item.
