Matt King Charity Auction

Currently the items are at £350 - 17 November 2004

Please use the Contact Form to submit your bids.

Matthew King started playing rugby in the Biggleswade Under 7s mini team, the core which are still together at Under 17s and playing here today. You may see them and their supporters selling raffle tickets and this is why.

Matthew has been a crucial part of their considerable success. At Under 10s they won the Mobbs festival at Northampton Saints; at Under 12s they were runners up and at Under 14s they won the Scottish Amicable finals at Twickenham. This season Biggleswade Under 17s are Midlands Champions and were favourites to win the East Midlands title (at the time of writing).

Matthew, who was selected for Bedfordshire from Under 13s through to 16s, went on to represent East Midlands at Under 18s this season. He also toured Australia and New Zealand last summer with the Bedfordshire Tigers, taking three part time jobs to raise the funds to travel.

He played rugby league to a very high standard and was signed to play for the London Broncos academy squad after previously representing the South of England. When playing rugby league for the Under 19s Broncos academy at Halifax four weeks ago Matt sustained a serious neck injury and is paralysed.

Adept at most sports, including scuba diving, Matthew is one of those marvellous all-rounders expected to achieve A and B grades at A level. Friends and team mates believe his personal characteristics of will power and tremendous humour will see him through.

We would ask you to support their fund raising today to help Mathew with his recovery.

This charity auction will see ALL monies raised for these items going direct to Matt.  Remember - the auction is for BOTH of the following items.

Please use the Contact Form to submit your bids.

The Auction will end on
31sr December 2004

I will also obtain a letter from Tom regarding the shirt and thanking you for helping Matt.

Cardiff Blues and Welsh International Tom Shanklin has donated a match worn and squad signed Cardiff Blues shirt and also a squad signed replica Wales Shirt.

The following shirts have been kindly donated by Tom Shanklin.  Tom is arguably one of the best backs in the Welsh Squad.  Sure to be a major part of The Cardiff Blues campaign this season, and also will not be overlooked for next years Lions Tour to New Zealand.

The Blues shirt is a match worn shirt, worn by Tom in a match for the Blues this season.  The shirt is of heavyweight material, with the enforced shoulders.  The Blues Badge and all sponsorship is present on the shirt.

Shanklin' Number (13) and his name appear on the back of the shirt.

Match Worn Welsh Region shirts are very rare and this being one of the first, will be a very wise investment.

Also included is this replica Wales shirt, signed 26 members of the Welsh Squad.   Again, this has been donated by Tom Shanklin.

Please visit this page regularly for details on how to bid on these items and also for up-and coming auctions and fund raisers for Matt.

100% of all monies raised will go direct to Matt and his cause.

You can read more about Matt at his excellent website:  http://www.goforitmatt.com/
